Disposing of animal carcasses, with the large amounts of fats and fluids involved, can pose major problems involving emissions, effluent, air pollution and residual waste. It is especially problematic if you need to handle a high quantity of carcasses over a very short period. When one of our overseas clients was faced with this particular dilemma they had no hesitation in calling on us to help them solve the problem.
Fortunately it is a problem that we at Matthews Environmental Solutions have solved many times and the plant that we designed to answer this huge concern is a double chamber rotary incinerator incorporating two massive animal carcass incinerators, each one of which is capable of handling a staggering 2.5 tonnes per hour. It is also designed to operate on a continuous 24-hour cycle, meaning that it is capable of satisfying the extreme demands with which it will sometimes be faced.
As the name implies, when in operation the incineration chambers of rotary incinerators slowly revolve throughout the combustion process. This ensures that instead of simply lying on the base of the chamber the contents are constantly moving and tumbling (just like a tumble dryer) to ensure maximum exposure to the heat source.

This ensures that instead of simply lying on the base of the chamber the contents are constantly moving and tumbling (just like a tumble dryer) to ensure maximum exposure to the heat source.
Consequently the incineration process is exceptionally efficient. Because of the high moisture content found within animal waste, rotary incinerators provide the most effective combustion process resulting in minimal residue along with high-quality ash. By also incorporating an efficient heat recovery system, much of the energy generated within the process can be re-harnessed for future usage.
This incinerator, like all our waste incinerators intended for animal waste, has been designed and built to meet the most stringent EU Waste Incineration Directive EU 76/2000, plus the top US standards and the very latest EU Animal by-products regulations.
Because this new plant will be located in a region of the world where there is now greater emphasis than ever on ecological and environmental responsibilities, all the waste emissions to atmosphere will be neutralised and any residual waste products will be wholly ecologically acceptable.
At Matthews Environmental we have been building our reputation for the finest rotary incinerators, animal waste incinerators and animal cremation technology over many years and our models are now used by national and local authorities, commercial organisations, science and laboratory operations, hospitals, abattoirs and many other facilities.
The tumbling action of our rotary incinerators is also ideally suited for all types of wet and high-moisture content loads and it has proved to be the perfect process for handling not simply animal wastes from animal processing sites or the destruction of animal carcasses in times of culls and large scale infectious outbreak affecting farm animals and wildlife, but our rotary incinerators are also in big demand for the handling of industrial sludge, sand and all types of effluent.
Rotary incinerators are only one of the Matthews incinerator options.
